Sunday, is Father’s Day.
All over the nation and the Christian world, weHONOR fathers.
WHY?
Acccording to Biblical history, the father should be the head of the family.
He is RESPONSIBLE:
for the welfare of the family, for the honor and integrity taught in the family.
And it is to the father that shame is reflected when his children do wrong.
But more importantly, it is the father who will stand before God and answer for his family!
In Ephesians 6:2, the Bible says that
Exodus 20:12 is “the first commandment with PROMISE!”
Disobedience to parent can bring DEATH!
Fathers WARN children about things which
can harm them.
It is also the father’s responsibility to LOVINGLY discipline his children. (Along with mothers)
But it is more important that fathers take the responsibility to love and TEACH the children.
ANY man can sire a child.
But it takes a REAL man to REAR a child.
The Bible tells us to “bring them up in
the nurture and admonition of the LORD!”
(Eph. 6:4)
Fathers, LOVE your children!
Provide, protect and teach your children
according to the will of God!
Children, HONOR your father with love and
appreciation.
